The Graduate School of Excellence Materials Science in Mainz (MAINZ) is an international PhD program based in Germany which focuses on graduate training through excellence in research in the fields of functional polymers, model systems and correlated materials, hybrid structures and bio-related materials. MAINZ is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) in the framework of the German Excellence Initiative. MAINZ was established in November 2007 and is the only graduate school in materials science in Germany that is funded in this framework.
This year MAINZ has organized a summer school on New Directions in Spintronics Research in cooperation with leading universities in China at Beijing Normal University, Beijing, on September 24-30, which accepted highly qualified students and doctoral researchers around the world. After competitive evaluation, Lei Li from our group has successfully been one of the 100 attendees (no participation fees) selected from 600 applicants. Good Job!
